Chaloner Wild Blossom Honey Eggnog
This traditional festive drink with all its Christmassy flavours is sure to put you in the yuletide mood.
2 litres full cream milk
4 eggs, lightly beaten
4 tablespoons Chaloner wild blossom honey
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon vanilla essence
375ml whisky or rum (you can leave this out if you do not want to make it alcoholic)
- In a deep saucepan combine the milk, eggs, honey, nutmeg, cinnamon, salt and vanilla essence. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat, stirring constantly for about 5 minutes – take care not to heat too much as the eggs will split from the mixture.
- Remove from the heat and stir in the liquor of your choice.
- Chill in the fridge for at least an hour before serving.
- Serve in individual glasses topped with a sprinkle of ground cinnamon.
